Luckily, I have 10 feet of material for 7 inches of product. Unluckily, stainless steel is hell to work with.The process entails knurling the steel, drilling out an 11/32" hole 7" long, and using a mill to cut slots for buttons and access holes. I would like to move the balance more forward.I want to switch to some stabilized wood scales and while doing that cut out large parts of the tang. Will these cutouts reduce the surface area between the scales and the tang too much for a strong glue bond? I am using the 5 min epoxy bottles from loctite.I could cut out something to put in place of the steel cutouts, and I could switch glue if that would help.
